You can apply for this benefit throughout the year; if your request is received by the 25th of the month, membership will become effective from the 1st day of the following month (e.g. if you apply during October it will start on 1 November). If you wish to purchase cover for family members please include their details on your benefit selection form. Once your application is processed you will receive an information pack and claim form from the providers, BHSF, by the 20th of the month, however, claims can be made for treatment received from the 1st of the month (you will need to save your receipts in order to claim).  


The cost is spread over 12 monthly instalments deducted from your net pay. You will not need to renew this benefit and instalments will continue unless you cancel your benefit or leave the University.

Cancellation or Amendment
If you wish to cancel or amend your cover you must notify us by email and we will arrange cancellation from the 1st of the next calendar month. If you are leaving NTU cancellation will be effective from the last day of your employment.

Should you wish to transfer to a higher premium, for the first 13 weeks following transfer, benefits are restricted to those that would have been payable under your previous cover level (this includes treatment that commences within this period irrespective of the duration of treatment). Transfer to a lower premium is not usually possible.

95% of claims are settled by BHSF within three working days as long as all requisite documentation has been provided by you, and cash back received is paid directly into your bank account.
